Small Business Showcase: Drop a Top Tree Service, LLC
“I won’t lie – I used to work with a different loan provider. The process became tough because I would call and couldn’t get ahold of a real person. I had spoken to Jayme Gerads before, and someone I knew recommended OCS, so I thought, ‘Why not?’ The interest rate was good, and Jayme was excellent to work with. The process was smooth, and I didn’t have to do a lot of anything.”
– Casey Guthrie, Owner of Drop a Top Tree Service, LLC
We sat down with Casey Guthrie, owner of Drop a Top Tree Service, LLC based in South Carolina, to learn more about his tree care business.
Casey’s values and principles make his tree service business unique. Not to mention, Casey’s story reminds readers of the American dream and how anything is possible if you trust your intuition and work diligently.
Drop a Top Tree Service, LLC: Tree Care Specialists
Casey incorporated Drop a Top Tree Service, LLC in 2018 but worked as a part-time tree care specialist long before. Years prior, his cousin needed help with another tree removal job and asked Casey to join him. Casey thought, “Why not,” he took a chance and realized soon after that caring for trees just made sense to him. It was a natural passion for a new line of work he enjoyed (and the money wasn’t too bad either!).
Fast forward to 2023: Casey and his wife have kept Travelers Rest, South Carolina, and the surrounding areas beautiful for five years. Their family-owned operation prides itself on its post-service clean-up efforts. They leave no trace or remnants of a bucket truck or boom lift, even if one was on the property.
They also provide a superior customer service experience. Their motto? Look out for the customer BEFORE the money. They give discounts to those needing tree-tments (pun intended) but can’t afford it at full price. Casey has also worked with local charities like Band of Brothers, giving ex-offenders and other men in need a successful re-entry into society. The team wants to help when they can.
Casey aims to grow his business over the next few years, so there is no better time than the present to acquire the equipment to complete jobs efficiently. Recently, Casey worked with OCS Business Development Officer and CLFP, Jayme Gerads, on financing a new 2023 Haulotte Articulating Boom Lift 55XA purchased from Bennett Equipment and Supply Company (BESCO).
When we asked Casey about his experience working with Jayme, he said:
“I won’t lie – I used to work with a different loan provider. The process became tough because I would call and couldn’t get ahold of a real person. I had spoken to Jayme before, and someone I knew recommended OCS, so I thought, ‘Why not?’ The interest rate was good, and Jayme was excellent to work with. The process was smooth, and I didn’t have to do a lot of anything.”
It was important that whoever was going to be Casey’s new commercial lender was reliable, real, and reachable (not just a voicemail inbox). When a direct lender does all the work for its customers, that can make a big difference for small businesses.
Casey has a lot to look forward to. He and his family are building a house (congratulations!), and with the boom lift now in possession, he can focus on expanding business in his service area.
OCS is thrilled to work with Casey, and we’re cheering on Drop a Top Tree Service, LLC as they expand, making the Travelers Rest, SC, area beautiful. OCS has been helping small businesses grow for over twenty-five years, offering equipment finance and working capital. Thanks to customers like Casey, we continue to “Make It Possible” every day!
